US immigration policy: Trump wants to lure rich people to the USA with "Gold Card"

According to President Donald Trump, the US government wants to create the possibility of acquiring a visa known as a "Gold Card" for unlimited residency in the United States. The purchase could cost five million dollars, Trump said in the White House. "A lot of people want to come to this country, and they are able to work and create jobs and build businesses and pay taxes, all that kind of thing."

When asked whether this also applies to Russian oligarchs, Trump replied that it was "probably" - he could certainly imagine that oligarchs were among those interested. He knows "a lot of nice people" there.

According to him, the program is scheduled to begin in about two weeks.
